S2 Ep11 – Conversation with Jenny Jarvis – Founder of Vibes, Cardiff (Yoga Studio and Coffee Bar)

Join me in Episode 11 of The Inspiring Mums Podcast for a conversation with Jenny Jarvis – Founder of Vibes, Cardiff – a yoga studio and coffee bar.

Jenny is also a mum of 2 and her journey to starting her own business is so inspirational.

I got to know Jenny after running one of my Mini Retreat for Mums at Vibes and she was so encouraging and supportive, that I knew I wanted to talk to her on my podcast, to hear more about how she started Vibes and how she balances running a business and being a mum of 2.

In this episode we talked about:

⚡️how the driving force behind Vibes was to create something positive out of something painful – Jenny experienced the loss of her Dad and her Mum become unwell extremely quickly

⚡️how Jenny had the idea for Vibes whilst on maternity leave with her 2nd child and took the first steps to making it happen then

⚡️how important the community aspect of Vibes is – people coming together to look after themselves and to feel good, that’s what it’s all about for Jenny

⚡️ how yoga improves your mental well-being, gives you head-space, freedom and creates the space for ideas or solutions to come to you

⚡️ how important connecting to your breath is with yoga – it’s about clearing and quietening the mind and having that union with body and mind

⚡️the yoga philosophy tells us that we are more than our day to day thoughts and our appearance – but we get so trapped in them. That’s not who we really are, the true us is who we are in our heart and soul, but we get drawn away from that

⚡️how experiencing great loss in her motherhood journey put the lows that she would have found hard as a new mum, into perspective. She found that she was so happy and grateful to have a healthy baby and that kept her going

⚡️how Jenny balances running a business and being a mum – it was difficult at the start but she knew it would be worth it to be her own boss in the future

⚡️how Jenny has a ‘just go and try it’ mindset now, but she wasn’t always like that. Now she thinks, ‘what’s the worst that can happen’ after experiencing huge loss and studying the yogic philosophy

⚡️who inspires Jenny and all of the qualities, knowledge and wisdom that an entrepreneurial mum can pass on to their kids

⚡️how proud her 5 year old daughter is of her work

⚡️the advice Jenny would give to a mum who wants to start her own business but has no confidence

After recording this episode, I felt so inspired by how Jenny has set up her business and her approach to just giving things a go too – I hope you enjoy this episode!

  • “You don’t need confidence to start a business, you just need to give something a go. You don’t need it all mapped out.” – Jenny Jarvis
  • “Getting stuck in the planning phase, doesn’t allow for the excitement or the unexpected things that might happen.” – Jenna Folarin

About me

I’m Jenna, a mum of three and a Qualified Coach for Mums. I’m on a mission to help as many mums as possible to feel happier and to live a life that feels good to them.

I love working with mums who have unspoken dreams inside of them and who are desperate to bring them to life, but their lack of self-belief holds them back.

Whether it’s building a business alongside being a mum, changing your career and following your passions, being creative or just having more time for you – I’m the person to support you with that, so you can actually make it happen!

I qualified as a Coach in 2020 through The Coaching Academy and also trained in Mindfulness for Mums through 10 of Zen in 2019.

As well as coaching, I run retreats for mums, I’ve created and delivered well-being workshops for Cardiff University and I’ve also set up and ran a monthly self-care group for mums in my local community.

I live in South Wales with my husband and 3 children, and when my kids are finally asleep I love nothing better than getting cosy and reading, or doing some crochet.
